Dearborn Imam Praises Alleged Death of Senator Graham and Calls for Trump’s Demise

A Dearborn imam publicly declared that Allah had taken Senator Lindsey Graham to hell and urged prayers for President Donald Trump's death.

In a recent sermon, Dearborn Heights Shiite scholar Mohammed Qazwini proclaimed that Allah had taken Senator Lindsey Graham to hell, describing the event as an unexpected divine slap. He then called on his audience to raise their hands and pray that Allah would similarly act against President Donald Trump, citing the president as Graham’s friend. Qazwini tied Graham’s alleged fate to what he called the “genocide in Gaza” and civilian deaths in Lebanon.

The imam also urged voters to support Abdul El-Sayed in the Senate primary, labeling the endorsement a moral and religious obligation, and criticized Haley Stevens as a Zionist puppet. Earlier, El-Sayed had attended the opening of Qazwini’s new mosque, praising the facility and its leadership. The exchange reflects a mutual endorsement between the political candidate and the religious leader.

Why it matters

The sermon links extremist religious rhetoric with U.S. electoral politics, raising concerns about hate speech and political influence.
