Delhi High Court reassigns paper-leak judge after just one week in post

The Delhi High Court moved Special Judge Anu Grover Baliga from the newly created paper-leak fast-track court to a terrorism-focused NIA bench after only a week.

In a reshuffle affecting 138 judicial officers, the Delhi High Court transferred Special Judge Anu Grover Baliga from the fast-track court created to try paper-leak offenses. Baliga, appointed in late July to the Rouse Avenue Courts fast-track bench, served just over a week before being moved to a special NIA court handling terrorism cases. The order also named Special Judge Ajay Gupta as her replacement; he had previously presided over paper-leak matters such as the NEET investigation.

Alongside Baliga, the court appointed Vikas Dhull, Prashant Sharma, Pulastya Pramachala, Kiran Bansal and Amit Bansal to NIA tribunals. The fast-track court was established after Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced measures to expedite paper-leak prosecutions, and all related cases have been directed there. The NEET paper-leak trial began on July 27 but was adjourned at the defense's request. Earlier, the National Testing Agency cancelled the May 3 NEET-UG exam over leak allegations, prompting a re-examination on June 21.
