Delta drops JFK nonstop service to three hubs, adds new RDU-RSW route

Delta Air Lines confirmed that nonstop flights from JFK to George Bush Intercontinental Airport, Memphis International Airport and St. Louis Lambert International Airport are being eliminated permanently, citing routine network planning after a June pause due to rising fuel costs. The airline will contact impacted customers to arrange rebooking through nearby LaGuardia Airport or provide refunds, and advises travelers to check the Fly Delta app for updates.

Starting November 21, Delta will launch a new nonstop service from Raleigh-Durham International Airport to Southwest Florida International Airport, operated with a Bombardier CRJ-900 regional jet. In parallel, the carrier rolled out “Basic” fares for its first-class and business-class cabins, offering premium perks at a lower price point and potentially saving passengers up to $200. Joe Esposito, executive vice president and chief commercial officer, said the fare expansion gives customers more options to match their travel needs. The changes affect New York-based flyers but preserve nonstop options to the three cities from LaGuardia.
