His property portfolio includes a $4.6 million Napa home featuring high-end furnishings and artwork valued at several hundred thousand dollars. While promoting a platform centered on affordability, anti-corruption, and sustainability, Jones repeatedly emphasizes his modest upbringing in a military family and his opposition to corporate PAC contributions.

Progressive groups tied to Senator Bernie Sanders, including Indivisible and Our Revolution, have publicly endorsed his candidacy despite their broader criticism of wealthy legislators. Jones attributes his wealth to a successful venture-capital career that saw Dragoneer’s assets grow from $180 million to $24 billion. He will contest the November 3 general election against incumbent Democrat Mike Thompson after finishing in the top two of the primary.
