Democrats add 12 GOP districts to target list, including Boebert and NRCC chair Hudson
The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee announced twelve additional Republican-held districts on its "Districts in Play" roster, bringing its total GOP targets to 58 as the midterm election approaches.
With the midterms less than three months away, the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee unveiled twelve more Republican-held seats on its "Districts in Play" list, raising the total number of GOP districts Democrats aim to flip to 58. The newly added contests include Colorado's Lauren Boebert, who won by just over 11 points, and North Carolina's Richard Hudson, the NRCC chair who previously secured an 18-point margin.
Other added targets are Arkansas Rep. French Hill and Indiana Rep. Victoria Spartz, both of whom won comfortably in 2024. DCCC Chair Suzan DelBene said the move signals a winning message and highlights perceived weaknesses among "safe" MAGA Republicans. The NRCC, for its part, is now focusing on 36 districts after adding seven more, many of which are newly drawn through recent redistricting efforts. Both sides anticipate spending hundreds of millions of dollars on a relatively short list of pivotal races as they vie for control of the House.
