Deputy Prime Minister's Grandson Arrested in Lahore Over Kidnapping and Rape of Two Foreign Women

Four suspects, including Muhammad Raza Dar, the grandson of Pakistan's Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, were detained in Lahore for allegedly abducting, raping and extorting a Dutch cryptocurrency entrepreneur and her Venezuelan partner.

Authorities in Lahore arrested Muhammad Raza Dar, the grandson of Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, along with three other men, following a complaint that they abducted, gang-raped and extorted a Dutch cryptocurrency founder and her Venezuelan business partner. The women, who met Dar in Singapore in October 2025, were invited to Pakistan for an investor introduction, only to be taken to an empty house where armed men restrained them.

Over a three-day period they were repeatedly assaulted, filmed, and pressured for a $100,000 ransom and a further $1.5-2 million, with threats of organ harvesting. They escaped after a transport vehicle collided with another car and alerted police, leading to the arrests of Dar, Hassan Raza, Sikandar Khan and Sajid Ali, while a fifth suspect dubbed “Boss” remains at large. Opposition senator Faisal Vawda demanded Ishaq Dar step down, accusing the government of shielding the case. The incident has drawn international attention to Pakistan's handling of crimes involving foreign nationals.
