A 41-year-old Salvadoran who illegally returned to the United States died in federal custody at Delaney Hall after a medical emergency.

Lopez-Cornejo had been apprehended by Border Patrol in 2006, removed later that year, and was re-detained after a June 18 arrest in Plainfield, New Jersey.
