Disney partners with iHeartMedia to add six video podcasts to Disney+ and Hulu

The Walt Disney Co. has signed a deal with iHeartMedia to launch six new video-podcast series on Disney+ and Hulu, beginning with Hey Jonas! on Aug. 14.

The Walt Disney Co. announced a partnership with iHeartMedia to bring six video-podcast productions to its Disney+ and Hulu platforms. The rollout starts on Aug. 14 with Hey Jonas!, a show hosted by the Jonas Brothers that will precede the streaming debut of Camp Rock 3. The slate also features Pod Meets World, a look back at Boy Meets World, Desperately Devoted revisiting Desperate Housewives, and other titles such as Fake Doctors, Real Friends with Zach and Donald, StraightioLab, and Thanks Dad with Ego Nwodim.

Lauren Tempest, head of content planning & partnerships for Disney’s direct-to-consumer division, said the addition will let fans connect more closely with beloved stories and creators. iHeartMedia chairman and CEO Bob Pittman praised Disney+ and Hulu as strong streaming homes for expanding the reach of popular iHeartPodcasts. The agreement aims to enrich the streaming experience with both nostalgic rewatch series and original video-podcast storytelling.
