Disney+ pulls the plug on a second season of Wonder Man
Disney+ has cancelled the planned second season of Marvel’s Wonder Man, ending the series after its first run.
Disney+ confirmed that the second season of Marvel’s Wonder Man will not be produced, reversing a renewal decision made earlier this year. The cancellation means the series will remain a single-season effort, similar to the majority of the platform’s live-action Marvel offerings. The show attracted 618 million minutes of viewing in its first week and maintained high critic and audience scores, while Yahya Abdul-Mateen II earned an Emmy nod for his performance.
Co-creators Destin Daniel Cretton and Andrew Guest, who were set to return, had served as executive producers alongside Kevin Feige, Louis D’Esposito, Jonathan Schwartz and Brad Winderbaum. The cast also included Ben Kingsley, X Mayo, Demetrius Grosse, Zlatko Burić, Arian Moayed, Olivia Thirlby, Dan Donohue and Kameron J. Meadows.
