Documentary 'Give It a Shot' Tracks Quest for Reversible Male Birth Control
The documentary 'Give It a Shot' will debut in North American theaters this September, chronicling efforts to develop the first reversible male contraceptive.
Vaishali Sinha’s new documentary, 'Give It a Shot,' documents the multi-decade push to bring a reversible male contraceptive to market, focusing on Indian researcher Dr. Sujoy Guha and an American development crew. The film launches theatrically across North America beginning Sept. 4 at New York’s DCTV, followed by preview showings in Los Angeles from Sept. 14-16 and a full opening on Sept. 18 at Laemmle Theatres, with additional venues slated for the fall.
A trailer has been released, and the project will later appear on a journalist at one outlet in 2027. After screenings, a Q&A will include Academy Award nominee Geeta Gandbhir, Make Love Not Porn founder Cindy Gallop, actress-writer Elizabeth Zephyrine, actress-producer Farah Bala, and Peabody-winning filmmaker Richard Wormser. The documentary is produced by Sinha, Hemang Chheda and co-produced by Lara Heintz and Tracie Holder, with executive producers from ITVS, one outlet, Sandbox Films and Equal Innovation. It has already earned awards at several festivals and will screen at the DC South Asian Film Festival this September.
