DOJ files record-size denaturalization complaints against 24 naturalized citizens
The Justice Department announced 24 new denaturalization complaints, the largest single filing wave in its history, alleging fraud and serious crimes.
The Department of Justice disclosed a coordinated set of 24 denaturalization complaints, marking the biggest surge of its kind on record. Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche explained that the filings allege the subjects secured citizenship by hiding violent crimes, sexual offenses against children, and various fraud schemes. The accused hail from 17 nations, including Pakistan, Moldova, India and Sweden, and face accusations ranging from attempted first-degree murder to illegal medical practice.
One North Carolina case involves a man who allegedly lied about his military service, while a South Carolina case concerns a husband who beat and choked his wife. With these filings, the DOJ’s total denaturalization actions since early 2025 rise to 88, and officials said the initiative will continue to protect the integrity of the naturalization process.
