Dollar Tree faces lawsuit after women allege semen attacks at San Diego store

Three shoppers said a man sprayed semen on them at a Dollar Tree in San Diego, leading to criminal charges against a Marine and a civil suit against the retailer.

Three women described encounters in which a man positioned himself directly behind them while they shopped at a Dollar Tree on Clairemont Mesa Boulevard in San Diego, later finding semen on their garments or hair. Police identified a 22-year-old US Marine as a suspect, charging him with misdemeanor lewd conduct and sexual battery; his lawyer Isaac Blumberg emphasized that the accusations have not been tested in court. One of the victims has filed a lawsuit against Dollar Tree in San Diego Superior Court, and the complaint notes that at least 11 women across the country have reported comparable incidents in Dollar Tree locations.

Attorney Clemency Condry highlighted an emerging online subculture surrounding these acts, while plaintiff’s counsel Alreen Haeggquist said her client now feels unsafe shopping alone. Dollar Tree rejected the claims, stating that safety is a top priority and that it assists authorities when criminal activity is reported. The case underscores concerns about store security and potential liability for retailers.
