Donald Trump faces unprecedented wave of threats and assassination attempts across his career
Donald Trump has become the most frequently targeted U.S. leader, encountering threat-related incidents roughly every two to three months, including three assassination attempts.
Donald Trump now holds the record for the highest number of threat incidents among U.S. presidents, with almost 20 cases reported since 2017. Compared with other leaders, who typically faced only one attempt, Trump experienced three separate assassination attempts and numerous other plots. During his first presidency, seven incidents were recorded; the 2024 campaign added four, two of which were assassination attempts in July and September.
Since assuming his second term, eight additional threats have emerged, including a third assassination attempt in July 2024. Earlier campaign episodes featured a stage rush in Ohio, a gun-handing attempt in Las Vegas, and a foiled ricin letter scheme, among other incidents.
