Early-morning blast destroys Canton house, two badly burned survivors found miles apart

Around 4 a.m. on Thursday, a violent explosion demolished a home in Canton, Ohio, as recorded by a neighbor’s doorbell camera, sending shockwaves two miles away. The blast shattered windows and knocked down power lines, creating additional hazards for responders. Fire officials reported that one occupant was blown onto the street, sustaining burns on 80% of his body, and a second survivor was found blocks from the scene with serious burns.

Both individuals were taken to area hospitals for treatment. Authorities noted extensive fire and structural damage to surrounding homes and have called utility companies to address electrical risks. The incident’s cause remains under investigation.
