Education Department probes Denver and Washington districts over alleged kissing lesson and testosterone display

The Education Department disclosed that it is launching inquiries into two school districts over complaints that may breach a federal statute protecting parental choice in matters of sexual behavior and attitudes. In Denver, a teacher is accused of directing students of the same gender to kiss each other in front of the class. In the Bethel School District, a Pride-month exhibit at Graham-Kapowsin High School displayed vials purported to contain testosterone, which the district said were not approved and were surrendered to the Pierce County Sheriff’s Office.
Both districts have pledged full cooperation, with Denver awaiting a formal response and Bethel reviewing its display-approval procedures. The investigations were announced on National Parents’ Day and align with the current administration’s broader campaign against policies that accommodate transgender and LGBTQ+ students. The department emphasized that parents should decide on issues affecting the most intimate aspects of their children’s lives.
