Elderly Neighbor Kills Missouri Mother and Daughter After Noise Dispute, Then Takes Own Life
A 73-year-old man shot his neighbor, Jessica Lashly, and her 17-year-old daughter, Jersey Greer, in House Springs before turning the gun on himself.
Jefferson County deputies say 73-year-old Robert Winkelman approached Jessica Lashly and her daughter Jersey Greer at their House Springs residence on July 25 to complain about activity at the house. After a brief exchange, Winkelman drew a firearm and shot Lashly in the head, then fired at Greer as she attempted first aid, also striking her in the head. Officers arrived to find Winkelman still armed; he turned the gun on himself and died from a self-inflicted wound days later.
Lashly and Greer were hospitalized in critical condition and succumbed on July 27. The teen’s organ donation saved six lives, and her family remembered her as a compassionate lacrosse player. A no-bond arrest warrant was issued for Winkelman, but he died before any trial could proceed.
