Estonia's coalition loses its majority after two parliamentarians quit
Two members of Estonia's ruling coalition have left their parties, dropping Prime Minister Kristen Michal's government to 50 seats in the 101-member Riigikogu.
Kalev Stoicescu, elected with Estonia 200, resigned from the party on Sunday, and Meelis Kiili announced his departure from the Reform Party on Monday. Their exits reduce the governing coalition's support to exactly half of the parliament's seats. Prime Minister Kristen Michal now heads a minority government. The shift comes ahead of a scheduled parliamentary election by March 2027.
