EVgo to Install Tesla-Designed V4 Superchargers on Its U.S. Network
EVgo announced plans to add Tesla-licensed V4 Superchargers, capable of 500 kW, to its charging stations in the United States.
EVgo disclosed that it will construct Tesla-branded V4 Superchargers for inclusion in its U.S. charging network. The licensed equipment can provide up to 500 kW of power and accepts both NACS and CCS1 plugs, matching Tesla’s fast-charging standards. EVgo will retain ownership and operational control, overseeing tasks such as engaging site hosts, securing utility interconnections, and managing pricing at each location.
The chargers will be visible within Tesla’s onboard navigation system and will be used by Tesla drivers when planning routes. This follows earlier deployments of licensed Tesla Superchargers in the United Kingdom in 2024. The move reflects growing adoption of the NACS standard across the industry.
