Falcons lock up Bijan Robinson with record $75 million extension

The Atlanta Falcons and star running back Bijan Robinson finalized a three-year extension that can reach $75 million, featuring $51 million guaranteed and $37 million payable at signing, according to reports. The agreement elevates Robinson to the highest-paid running back in NFL history. Robinson, who had been present at training camp but refrained from participating in drills while seeking a new contract, has posted more than 1,400 rushing yards in each of the last two seasons and recorded 79 receptions for 820 yards in 2025.

This deal adds to recent sizable contracts the Falcons have awarded, including a four-year $141.05 million pact for receiver Drake London and a three-year $54 million agreement for tight end Kyle Pitts. While the running back’s future is now secured, the team’s quarterback situation remains uncertain, with Tua Tagovailoa newly signed and Michael Penix Jr. still recovering from a third ACL tear. The Falcons’ preseason opens in ten days against the Denver Broncos, and the regular season begins on September 13 in Pittsburgh against the Steelers.
