Fans Launch Petition After Dannon Pulls Beloved Coffee-Flavored Yogurt
Dannon stopped selling its coffee-flavored yogurt on April 1, prompting longtime fans to start a Change.org petition and flood social media with disappointment.
On April 1, Dannon removed its coffee-flavored yogurt from shelves, a move that ignited a wave of fan activism on Change.org and various social platforms. The petition highlights the product’s unique combination of coffee flavor, roughly 32 mg of caffeine per 5.3-ounce serving, and 11 g of added sugar, describing it as a cherished morning snack. Longtime devotees, including a New Jersey lawyer who drank it for four decades and a New York retiree who bought cases regularly, expressed sorrow and even withdrawal-type symptoms.
Online discussions feature attempts to replicate the taste by adding coffee to other yogurts and recommendations of alternatives such as Icelandic Provisions’ cold-brew skyr. Dannon’s yogurt division president, Rafael Acevedo, told one outlet the brand may reintroduce the flavor in a way that aligns with modern taste and nutrition trends, while the company’s Instagram post invited further consumer feedback. One outlet reported that Dannon declined to comment further.
