Farmers' Alliance to Relaunch Nationwide Demonstrations Starting November 26
The Samyukt Kisan Morcha announced a fresh wave of protests at 100 sites across India from Nov. 26, echoing earlier student rallies at Jantar Mantar.
Buoyed by recent student actions at Jantar Mantar, the umbrella farmers' group Samyukt Kisan Morcha said it will restart demonstrations in a hundred locations, including Delhi, on Nov. 26. The campaign will press for a guaranteed minimum support price, repeal of all free-trade agreements, a broad loan waiver, removal of four labour codes, a Rs 31,000 minimum wage, and the revival of the old rural job guarantee. It also seeks to withdraw the Electricity Privatisation Bill 2025, Seed Bill 2025 and the NFSA Amendment Bill, and to end forced land acquisition. P Krishnaprasad of AIKS warned the protests will continue until all seven demands are met.
