Fast-moving Dora Fire forces Highway 138 shutdown near Lancaster
A rapidly spreading wildfire dubbed the Dora Fire ignited near Neenach in Los Angeles County, prompting the closure of Highway 138 and evacuation alerts.
The blaze was first reported at 3:44 p.m. and within minutes officials issued evacuation warnings for zone LAC-E1641. By 4:26 p.m. the fire had consumed about 750 acres, according to Cal Fire. Highway 138 between Lancaster Road and 120th Street West was shut down to protect motorists and aid firefighting efforts. Authorities continue to monitor the situation as crews work to contain the flames.
