Father accused of killing 9-year-old daughter produced bizarre self-praise manifesto

Luciano Frattolin, a 46-year-old former coffee entrepreneur from Canada, faces murder charges after his 9-year-old daughter, Melina, was found dead in Ticonderoga, New York. Prior to his capture, police recovered a bizarre, undated manifesto from his rented white Toyota Prius, in which he boasted of being a “brave father” and a multibillion-dollar mogul planning to retire and devote himself to mental-health philanthropy.

The document also falsely announced that his ex-girlfriend, Kali Galanis, had been sentenced to life in prison and outlined imagined plans for a new wife and an Italian passport for the child. Prosecutors highlighted the note during a court session, reading it aloud as evidence of Frattolin’s attempt to fabricate a kidnapping narrative that prompted a massive Adirondack manhunt. New York State Police investigator Brendan Frost presented the material, while the Essex County Sheriff's Office confirmed Frattolin’s continued detention. The case underscores a disturbing blend of alleged homicide and elaborate deception.
