Fauci’s diary reveals scathing remarks about Rand Paul amid Senate showdown
Anthony Fauci’s recently published diary shows he repeatedly called Senator Rand Paul an “idiot” and “fool” while the two sparred in a Senate hearing.
Senator Rand Paul summoned Dr. Anthony Fauci before the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee, where the former COVID-19 adviser invoked his Fifth Amendment right over a hundred times. Ahead of the session, Paul disclosed 1,141 pages of Fauci’s diary, prompting the doctor to denounce the release as an attempt to embarrass and intimidate him. The diary, covering December 2019 to December 2022, references Paul at least 84 times, using terms such as “idiot,” “fool,” and “total nut cake.”
Fauci recalled earlier clashes, including a May 2020 virtual hearing where he felt he “stuffed” Paul. He also recorded praise from President Joe Biden, who allegedly told him he had “done a great job” in dealing with Paul, and noted that British physicians now view him more favorably because of the Senate exchange.
