Federal Health Agencies Hold Closed-Door Demo Day with Top Clinical AI Firms

At the FDA’s White Oak headquarters on July 8, senior staff from the agency and the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services organized a closed-door showcase of emerging clinical artificial-intelligence systems. Ten companies—Anthropic, Counsel Health, Curai, K Health, Microsoft AI, Amazon One Medical, Doctronic, Ellipsis Health, Hippocratic AI and Welldoc—presented their AI doctor technologies to federal officials. The event was designed to give regulators a hands-on view of the capabilities and limitations of current health-AI tools.
Attendees, ranging from established tech giants to venture-backed startups, used the forum to convey their perspectives on how the government might regulate and pay for these innovations. The meeting underscores the growing urgency for clear policy as AI becomes more integrated into patient care.
