Five firms launch IPOs worth over Rs 7,400 crore this week

India’s primary market will see five companies raise a combined Rs 7,443 crore through IPOs between August 10 and August 12.

A busy week lies ahead for India’s primary market as five firms plan to raise Rs 7,443 crore via initial public offerings. Dhoot Transmission and Molbio Diagnostics will list on August 10, offering shares in price bands of Rs 829-871 and Rs 768-807 respectively. Milky Mist Dairy Food follows on August 11 with a Rs 1,553-crore issue priced between Rs 133-140, while e-commerce platform Shiprocket and engineering castings maker Behari Lal Engineering open on August 12 with price ranges of Rs 92-97 and Rs 271-285.

The capital raised will fund growth initiatives, capital expenditures, debt reduction and other corporate purposes, raising the total number of IPOs launched this year to 47. Ongoing subscriptions include KKR-backed LEAP India and Technocraft Ventures, and further IPOs are expected to announce price bands soon.

Why it matters

The batch of large IPOs signals strong investor appetite and could boost capital markets activity in India.
