In the latest Hulu original series "Furious," retired FBI special agent Jana Monroe shares insight into the practice of serial-killer profiling. Monroe was among the pioneering women in the FBI's Behavioral Science Unit, a group credited with developing modern criminal profiling techniques. During more than twenty years with the bureau, she contributed to hundreds of homicide investigations and helped identify perpetrators in high-profile cases such as Jeffrey Dahmer and the Rogers family killings.
Following her field work, she held senior leadership positions, oversaw major field offices, and supported cybercrime initiatives before leaving the FBI in 2006. Monroe later chronicled her career in the book "Hearts of Darkness: Serial Killers, the Behavioral Science Unit, and My Life as a Woman in the FBI."
