Former J.Crew executive builds thriving event planning businesses after motherhood

Seri Kertzner spent ten years working for fashion houses such as Kate Spade, Club Monaco and J.Crew, gaining experience in production and even contributing to the Obama inauguration coats. The birth of her first child in 2009 prompted her to leave the corporate world, as she missed time with her baby and felt a new passion for motherhood. In 2010 she launched Little Miss Party, leveraging her party-girl reputation and a former coworker’s help.

The venture grew after a feature in New York Magazine, and she later added The Social Society and rebranded her original firm as Rev New York. A move to Florida amid the pandemic led her to shift operations, but trusted staff kept the New York side active while she built a Florida location with her children’s input. Kertzner now balances running multiple event-planning brands with prioritizing her family.
