Former RHOC star Jeana Keough battles tongue cancer amid treatment setbacks
Jeana Keough, 70, is unable to speak while undergoing therapy for squamous cell carcinoma of the tongue, and recent complications have paused her treatment.
Kara Bosworth posted on Instagram that her mother, former "Real Housewives of Orange County" cast member Jeana Keough, cannot speak because of intense tongue and throat pain caused by radiation. The 70-year-old was diagnosed with squamous cell carcinoma of the tongue after a persistent sore was biopsied, prompting two surgeries including lymph-node removal. Over a month of chemo and radiation has left her severely depleted, unable to eat for two weeks.
Doctors recently found a deep-vein thrombosis and an infection in her leg, forcing a pause in her cancer treatment and delaying the insertion of a feeding tube. Keough’s son Shane Keough and her other son Colton, as well as her late ex-husband Matt, have been mentioned in family updates. The family continues to seek support through a GoFundMe campaign.
