Former tenant attacks ex-landlord's home in Nagpur, killing woman and injuring couple
A disgruntled ex-tenant armed with a sword and knife broke into his former landlord's house in Amar Nagar, killing Sangeeta Chaudhary and seriously wounding the landlord Dharmapal Dahat and his wife Vanita.
In the morning of Tuesday, Roshan Taral, a former tenant, stormed the home of his ex-landlord Dharmapal Dahat and the landlord's wife Vanita in Amar Nagar, Nagpur district, wielding a sword and a knife. The assault began when Taral attacked Dharmapal, severing fingers and striking his face, then turned on Vanita, inflicting serious head wounds. Sangeeta Chaudhary, 40, who was staying with her sister Vanita Dahat, was unexpectedly cut across the throat with the sword, fled the house, collapsed on the road and died instantly.
The elderly couple were rushed to a private hospital in Wanadongri. Neighbours secured the main door, trapping Taral inside until police from the MIDC station broke in and arrested him. Authorities have registered charges of murder and attempted murder and are probing additional motives, including a possible grievance against a former girlfriend.
