Four top Indian firms add Rs 1.43 lakh crore, SBI leads gains
Four of India’s ten most valuable companies together increased their market worth by Rs 1.43 lakh crore last week, with State Bank of India posting the largest rise.
During the last trading week, four of the ten most valuable Indian companies collectively boosted their market valuation by Rs 1.43 lakh crore. State Bank of India led the surge, its capitalisation rising by Rs 63,922.03 crore to Rs 10,11,721.84 crore. Behind it, Reliance Industries added Rs 32,816.4 crore, Tata Consultancy Services grew by Rs 31,875.35 crore, and Larsen & Toubro increased by Rs 14,637.76 crore.
The BSE Sensex finished the week 0.51% higher, while the NSE Nifty rose 0.76%. Offsetting these gains, Bharti Airtel, HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank, Bajaj Finance, Life Insurance Corporation of India and Hindustan Unilever together lost about Rs 1.23 lakh crore, with LIC suffering the biggest drop of Rs 40,543.23 crore. Analysts linked the modest market rise to the new Closing Auction Session framework, the RBI’s policy decision and ongoing geopolitical uncertainty.
