Fred Richard clinches first U.S. all-around title at gymnastics championships

At the U.S. Gymnastics Championships in Phoenix, Fred Richard captured his first national all-around title, posting a two-day total of 170.015. He finished two points ahead of fellow Olympian Shane Wiskus, while Danila Leykin took third after a costly mistake on floor exercise. Richard maintained consistency on each apparatus and celebrated his final vault with a wide-armed roar.

Although the win does not automatically guarantee a spot on the World Championships team in Rotterdam, his performance positions him as a strong candidate for the five-man roster. The field was open after defending champion Asher Hong withdrew with injury and three-time champion Brody Malone sat out the season. Richard, a three-time NCAA all-around champion, finally added a U.S. title to his résumé.
