Fresno mother found dead in ex-boyfriend's home after disappearance
Tatiana McIntyre, a 29-year-old mother, was discovered murdered at Jeffrey Vernon Michaels' Fresno residence after she vanished while trying to see their children.
The disappearance of 29-year-old Tatiana McIntyre, also known as Alison Riley, escalated into a homicide case after her body was located in the Fresno home of her former partner, Jeffrey Vernon Michaels. McIntyre was reported missing on Aug. 4 when she did not pick up a child from school, and her phone last pinged at Michaels' address before losing service. Investigators tracked her rented Zipcar to an orchard near McKinley and Academy avenues, where it was left with her belongings inside.
A subsequent search warrant at Michaels' residence on Grove and Phillip streets uncovered McIntyre's corpse, showing several lacerations. Although Michaels initially fled Fresno, he later contacted police and turned himself in, now facing a murder charge with a $1 million bail. Police Chief Mindy Casto said motive remains unknown, while relatives allege prior domestic abuse and have started a GoFundMe for the seven children left behind.
