Friends of missing college athlete plan Horn Island visit to examine death site

Warren Hudson, who calls himself Wells’ best friend, along with Jax Pitalo and Morgan Seymour, will revisit Horn Island on Friday, escorted by attorneys J. Tyler Cox and Edward Andrew Paltzik. The purpose, according to the lawyers, is to familiarize the friends with the island’s geography and dynamics, without gathering evidence. Cox and Paltzik said they will aggressively target defamatory remarks about the trio, promising legal action against any parties spreading falsehoods.

The three men were with 18-year-old college football star Nolan Wells during a Fourth of July boating outing when he disappeared; his body was recovered two days later. Authorities have so far found no evidence of criminal activity, while civil-rights lawyer Ben Crump continues to investigate the case on behalf of the family. The attorneys declined immediate comment when contacted for further details.
