Fun Spot America Shuts Down Fayetteville Park After 36 Years of Operation

After 36 years of service, Fun Spot America’s Fayetteville, Georgia amusement park held its final day on August 2, marking the end of a venue that opened in 1990 as Dixieland Fun Park and later operated under the name Fun Junction USA. The park featured the ArieForce One coaster, which claimed the title of the country’s largest zero-G stall ride with a 146-foot drop and speeds up to 64 mph. Company owner and CEO John Arie, Jr. explained that the location struggled to rebound after the pandemic, prompting the decision to close and seek a buyer for the coaster, which is too large for the company’s Florida sites.

Staff are receiving résumé help and possible transfers to Fun Spot’s Orlando and Kissimmee parks, where season passes and gift cards remain valid. Arie thanked patrons and encouraged them to visit the remaining Florida locations for future experiences.
