German police detain Ukrainian man suspected of spying on Bavarian defence contractor
Authorities in Germany have taken a 33-year-old Ukrainian into custody on suspicion of gathering intelligence on a defence firm in Bavaria for possible sabotage.
Investigators say the suspect photographed the premises of a defence company in June and relayed the images to a foreign intelligence service. He was apprehended in Thuringia on Sunday and placed in pre-trial detention. Munich prosecutors and Bavaria's State Criminal Police Office disclosed the arrest on Thursday.
