Giants' farm system sees promotions, debuts and strong offensive outings on August 6

The Giants' farm system saw a flurry of roster changes on Thursday, with outfielder Tanner Mally joining Low-A San Jose and several others moving up, including Cam Maldonado to High-A Eugene, Jose Astudillo to AA Richmond, and pitchers Will Bednar and Christian Alvarado to AAA Sacramento. Sacramento’s loss to Round Rock featured solid work from Jonah Cox, who kept his hitting streak alive, and Turner Hill, whose lone hit extended his 22-game streak.

At High-A Eugene, recent trade acquisitions Henry LaLane and Marty Gair made effective starts, while Jhonny Level and Lisbel Diaz delivered standout offensive nights. AA Richmond’s doubleheader against Reading resulted in two defeats, with Gavin Kilen hitting his first home run since promotion. Low-A San Jose was beaten badly by Stockton, though shortstop Josuar González hit a grand slam, underscoring his status as a top prospect.
