Glenn Hughes Cancels Touring Plans to Undergo Open-Heart Surgery

Glenn Hughes, known for his work with Deep Purple and other rock projects, posted on Facebook that he must undergo open-heart surgery, prompting him to retire from touring for the foreseeable future. He detailed a year of health problems that required multiple MRIs, CT scans and an echocardiogram, after which his medical team advised surgery. The artist had previously cancelled a six-week U.S. spring tour that was to begin in late March and end in early May.

In his message, Hughes thanked supporters, emphasizing that his well-being is his top priority. He signed off as a friend to his fans, indicating hope for future musical endeavors once recovered.
