Gujarat launches Rs 1.6 lakh housing subsidy for registered construction workers

The Gujarat Building and Other Construction Workers' Welfare Board has introduced the Shree Nanaji Deshmukh Awas Yojana, offering a one-time financial aid of ₹1.6 lakh to construction workers who have been allotted an EWS or LIG house under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana or the Chief Minister Awas Yojana. To qualify, workers must be registered with the board for a minimum of two years, must not own any land, property or building, and must wait at least one year after the house allotment before applying.

Eligibility extends to families where either spouse is a registered worker, but the benefit can be claimed only once per family. Applicants first obtain an e-Nirman Card via the board’s e-Nirman portal, then submit required documents—including Aadhaar, allotment letter, and proof of instalment payment—through the Gujarat government’s Sanman portal. District and state authorities verify the submissions, and upon approval the board disburses the subsidy.
