Gurgaon worker found dead in hanging; son records video as mother cries for help
A 36-year-old employee was discovered hanging at his Surat Nagar home in Gurgaon, with police saying his seven-year-old son captured the scene on a phone while his wife shouted for assistance.
Police in Gurgaon reported that Sanjeev Yadav, a 36-year-old associate operator at a multinational firm, was found hanging in his Surat Nagar residence on Thursday. Only his wife, Manpreet Kaur, and their seven-year-old son were present; the child allegedly filmed the hanging on a mobile device while his mother shouted for help. Family members, including sister Kiran and father Ramsevak Yadav, allege that Sanjeev was under severe marital strain, with his wife seeking a divorce, and they question whether he could have hanged himself given his size.
The police have detained the wife for questioning and are examining the possibility of foul play. Sanjeev, originally from Amritsar, had married Manpreet, a resident of Ambala, in 2018 after meeting at Denso in Gurugram, and they have a son born in 2019. Sub-Inspector Mahender Singh said the body was handed over after the post-mortem, and officials will act according to the law once the autopsy results are available.
Why it matters
The death raises concerns about domestic conflict and the need for thorough investigations into alleged suicides.
