Hadrian secures $1.37 billion funding, valuation near $7.9 billion

Defense-technology firm Hadrian raised $1.37 billion in a new financing round, bringing its valuation to about $7.87 billion.

Hadrian announced a fresh financing round of $1.37 billion, pushing its market value to roughly $7.87 billion. Lead backers included WCM Investment Management, Washington Harbour Partners, Valor Equity Partners, 137 Ventures and Baillie Gifford, while other participants ranged from 1789 Capital and Morgan Stanley Wealth Management to funds managed by Apollo and T. Rowe Price, as well as venture groups like CapitalG and Andreessen Horowitz.

Earlier, Founders Fund and Lux Capital had led a $260 million Series C, taking the company’s cumulative capital to about $2 billion. Hadrian’s strategy centers on building automated manufacturing sites that mass-produce parts for the military’s existing vehicle fleet. In March, the firm opened its fourth facility in Alabama to produce submarine components, a project valued at $2.4 billion under a public-private partnership model.

Why it matters
