Haeran Ryu leads AIG Women's Open after dramatic comeback at Royal Lytham

At Royal Lytham & St Annes, Haeran Ryu reclaimed the lead in the AIG Women’s Open with a two-under 69, putting her at seven under and one ahead of Japan’s Shiho Kuwaki. Ryu erased a three-stroke deficit early in the round by stringing together five birdies, including a 15-foot finish on the 18th. Charley Hull and Lottie Woad each carded a 71, leaving them two strokes behind the leader.

World No 1 Nelly Korda posted a 68 to move to one under, while Jeeno Thitikul fell to two strokes back after a 73. Defending champion Miyu Yamashita failed to make the cut after a 77, and other notable players such as Lydia Ko and Celine Boutier sit at one under. The tournament’s next stages will determine the final field for Team Europe’s Solheim Cup qualifiers.
