Hamilton warns Mercedes as Ferrari pushes aggressive upgrade plan for second half

Lewis Hamilton warned that Ferrari’s intensive upgrade programme, especially to its power unit, could see the Italian team become more competitive after the season’s halfway point. He noted that the team has been about three-to-four tenths slower on the straights and praised their effort to introduce new parts every weekend. Fred Vasseur, Ferrari’s team boss, said the Scuderia has already outscored Mercedes in the recent races following the Spanish Grand Prix and must continue improving the engine and chassis.

Hamilton also said he will use the break to reset mentally and return fitter. The recent Hungarian race saw Lando Norris win for McLaren, but Vasseur insisted Ferrari will keep its aggressive development philosophy as the calendar moves forward.
