Hark unveils Handoff browser agent to automate online tasks

Hark, the venture-backed startup that secured $700 million in Series A funding, launched its Handoff agent, which operates through a web browser to perform tasks on sites lacking official APIs, including retailers and professional networks. The agent analyses page structure and visual elements to determine required clicks or keystrokes, enabling functions such as food ordering, travel reservations, tax filing, and data research.

During a video demonstration, CEO Brett Adcock directed the assistant to create a flower bouquet, accepting imprecise instructions like “some of the florist’s choice.” Hark noted that this iteration relies on a post-trained model, with plans to adopt pre-training later in the year to accelerate development. The company asserts that Handoff is both quicker and cheaper than rival models such as GPT 5.5 and Opus 4.8. A waitlist has been opened, and the service is slated for release by the end of the summer.
