HIDIVE signs biggest ever multi-year anime output deal with Japan's MBS
HIDIVE and Mainichi Broadcasting System have sealed a new multi-year exclusive output agreement, the largest programming deal in HIDIVE's history.
AMC Global Media's streaming platform HIDIVE and Japan's Mainichi Broadcasting System have entered a multi-year exclusive output pact, representing HIDIVE's most extensive content agreement to date. Building on a 2023 arrangement that granted HIDIVE exclusive worldwide distribution of select MBS anime outside Asia, the new contract will see HIDIVE simulcasting MBS's forthcoming slate across the United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, the United Kingdom and Ireland.
The first title under the deal, "Nia Liston: The Merciless Maiden," will premiere at Anime NYC before its Japanese release in October and join HIDIVE's Fall 2026 simulcast season. The series adapts a light novel by Minamino Umikaze, with direction by Nakanishi Motoki and production by Konami Animation. HIDIVE president John Ledford and MBS director Shibata Mihoko highlighted the partnership's success and its potential to broaden the global anime audience.
