Hollywood retro bar shut down temporarily over insect and rodent infestation

Good Times at Davey Wayne’s, a popular 1970s-themed bar on 1611 N El Centro Avenue in Hollywood, was ordered to close on Thursday after the Los Angeles County Public Health Department documented nine health violations. The most serious was an 11-point breach for the presence of insects, rodents and other animals, while the remaining citations covered minor and general requirement issues such as plumbing deficiencies and inadequate hand-washing stations.

The establishment, which opened in 2014 and is famed for a secret refrigerator entrance and an Airstream-style backyard bar, posted an Instagram announcement for a Monday night event, suggesting it resumed service. The incident follows a recent wave of temporary closures at other local eateries, including Olio Wood Fired Pizzeria, Shiku, McConnell’s Fine Ice Creams in Grand Central Market, as well as Di Pillas Pizzeria in Rosemead and Phovorite in Culver City, all linked to pest problems.
