House Majority Leader Steve Scalise, a Republican from Louisiana, is set to kick off his August recess campaign in Nebraska’s swing 2nd Congressional District near Omaha, joining fellow GOP member Brinker Harding for an event. The House entered recess last week and will return the first week of September, followed by a short Labor Day break. Throughout August, Scalise intends to traverse the nation, campaigning for nearly 30 Republican officeholders and hopefuls.
Planned stops include Colorado, Iowa, Michigan, New York, Ohio, South Carolina and Texas. His travel aims to bolster the party’s prospects in key battlegrounds ahead of upcoming elections. The schedule for the Nebraska appearance has not been publicly confirmed.
