Houston funeral director accused of forging wills and hoarding human remains

Houston funeral director Michael “Unique” Green, who publicly identifies as transgender, is charged with forging a will to divert a deceased individual's multi-million-dollar estate, including investments, a vehicle and real property, to himself. Police executing a search warrant discovered a bucket filled with organs and 48 boxes of cremated human remains stored at his business. The alleged fraud follows a pattern of prior forgery convictions, including a 2007 guilty plea for fraudulent FEMA applications using false Social Security numbers.

Since 2023, several families have been waiting for the ashes of relatives handled by Green's funeral home. After his arrest, Green secured release on an $800,000 bond and responded confrontationally to reporters.
