India's July passenger vehicle dispatches surge 33%, Maruti and Hyundai hit record sales
Domestic passenger-vehicle deliveries in India jumped about 33% year-on-year in July, reaching roughly 470,000 units, driven by strong performances from Maruti Suzuki, Hyundai and other major makers.
July saw India’s passenger-vehicle sector deliver an estimated 470,000 units, up roughly one-third from July 2025, marking a standout month for the industry. Maruti Suzuki led the market with a historic 196,203 cars sold, a 43.4% jump, while Hyundai Motor India recorded its best-ever monthly figure of 54,210 units, up 23.3%. Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles posted a 58% increase to 62,611 units, and Mahindra & Mahindra’s utility-vehicle sales rose 20% to 60,048 units.
Other manufacturers such as Honda, Toyota Kirloskar, Kia, JSW MG and Nissan also posted solid gains, with Nissan more than tripling its wholesale volume. Executives credited continued demand from GST 2.0, repo-rate cuts and income-tax relief for individuals earning up to Rs 12 lakh as key drivers of the surge.
