During the past week, India's leading listed corporations saw their combined market worth grow by Rs 2.51 lakh crore as a market rally boosted nine of the ten biggest firms. Bajaj Finance recorded the strongest performance, its market cap expanding by over Rs 80,000 crore following a 28% year-on-year profit increase for the June quarter of FY27. Other gainers included Reliance Industries, Bharti Airtel, HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank, State Bank of India, Tata Consultancy Services, Larsen & Toubro and LIC, while Hindustan Unilever slipped in valuation.
The BSE Sensex climbed 2,034.87 points (2.67%) and the NSE Nifty rose 616.15 points (2.59%). Analysts attributed the rebound to easing oil prices, improved geopolitical sentiment, encouraging early FY27 earnings and fresh foreign institutional buying.
